December 5, 2017 – Morrisville, North Carolina, USA

Device Solutions Inc today announced the availability of the next generation 4G LTE CAT1 enabled Cellio LoRa Gateway for wide area, long range, end-to-end monitoring of agriculture, cold chain, gas distribution, transportation, and many other industrial (IIoT/M2M) applications. The Cellio solution is a TOTAL solution – encompassing the hardware, software, wireless connectivity, cloud storage, and monitoring apps for smartphones.

As of mid-2018, Verizon has announced it will no longer activate 3G devices on its network and by end of 2019 will cease to support 3G devices (2G technology was sunset in 2016). Industrial customers looking for technology that will be supported for more than a decade will need 4G LTE products like the new Cellio Gateway. Until technologies like 5G are fielded, trialed, and scheduled for scaled deployment sometime after 2020, 4G LTE technology will be the primary technology supported by the major carriers. 4G LTE will be standard for at least the next 10-20 years for fielded applications and installations.

Cellio’s distributed architecture (star topology), with dozens of sensors attached to a Cellio transceiver, connects to the Cellio gateway. The Cellio Gateway makes the connection to the cloud through the cellular network. A single Cellio Gateway can support hundreds of transceivers on a campus, facility, etc. Leveraging a single cellular connection per site represents substantial cellular savings and overall lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for enterprise-wide installations. For example:

Connecting multiple sensors to each transceiver, and possibly 100’s of transceivers to each Gateway, means that each sensor could be monitored for less than $1USD/mo inclusive of cellular fees, data hosting, dashboarding, analytics, mobile apps, etc. In contrast, alternative architecture approaches require a cellular connection for every asset (or every sensor) and can range upwards of $35/month – making many alternative approaches cost prohibitive for most clients.

In addition, Cellio Gateways are scalable and simple to deploy. Once deployed at a site, Cellio provides a platform onto which additional transceiver devices and sensors can be added very quickly, easily, and inexpensively. Cellio’s gateways provide a unique capability whereby the transceivers can simply be turned on and put into place and then automatically connect and start sending information to the Gateway which in turn relays the information to the Cloud. In practice, installations can be done in minutes with data showing up on the cloud dashboard almost instantly.

“With the pace of change in wireless standards and cellular network technology we value our partnership with a technology innovator such as Device Solutions,” said Lambert Matias, President and CEO, GovMobile, LLC. “We have been pleased with how rapidly we can deploy industrial-grade IoT solutions for our government clients using their Cellio Enterprise IIoT solution.”

The newest generation of Cellio 4G LTE CAT1 (with LoRa) Gateways provide:

  • Internal cellular antenna
  • Internal 900 MHz LoRa antenna – greater than 1 mile Line of Sight
  • Internal LiIon back-up battery
  • GPS Capable
  • Single Gateway can support hundreds of Transceivers; each transceiver can support dozens of sensors.
  • AC Power Supply (alternative power options available including solar)
  • Waterproof and dustproof enclosure (IP68)
  • 4G LTE CAT1 for both Verizon and AT&T (AT&T model includes 3G fallback)

“Our newest Cellio 4G LTE Gateway represents our commitment to support evolving cellular networks worldwide while supporting our customers for the foreseeable technology horizon,” explains Bob Witter, CEO of Device Solutions. “We believe the timing is perfect to provide 4G LTE CAT1 enabled devices for our customers who are investing in large enterprise (multi-site) installations and don’t want to risk having to replace or upgrade equipment for the foreseeable future.”

Device Solutions Inc Launches Next Generation Cellio LoRa Transceivers for Affordable, Reliable and Scalable Wireless Remote Monitoring

The Cellio ecosystem provides end-to-end turnkey out-of-the-box cellular connectivity, hardware, software, and cloud storage, analytics, dashboarding, mobile apps, and alerts

November 2, 2017 – Morrisville, North Carolina, USA

Device Solutions Inc today announced the availability of the next generation Cellio LoRa long-range low-power wireless transceivers for wide area, long range, end-to-end monitoring and control for agriculture, cold chain, gas distribution, transportation, and many other industrial applications.

Cellio is suited for single locations as well extensive enterprise configurations where there may be upwards of millions of sensors and controls connected to equipment across the continent. Partnered with cellular carriers and back-end cloud platforms, sensor instrumentation companies, and technology core companies – full enterprise-level-solution installations can be quick, easily scaled, and very affordable.

Easy to install, the Cellio ecosystem enables companies to gain unprecedented visibility into their operations and assets on a continuous basis. For many companies this means moving from clipboards, paper and pencil to near real-time information of inventories, process parameters, and alert conditions across the enterprise all day every day.

“We have worked with many enterprise solution companies in the past but we have rarely had the privilege to represent a company that truly provides everything needed for a successful enterprise deployment out of the box while also allowing the full spectrum of customization options,” said Jim Friedrich, President and CEO, EnVision Enterprise Solutions. “It’s hard to wrap your head around how extensible the Cellio platform truly is until you see it for yourself.”

Cellio transceivers use LoRa wireless technology (Long Range 915 MHz) to connect sensors and controllers wirelessly to the cloud. The newest generation of Cellio LoRa Transceivers provide:

1. Internal wireless antenna – greater than 1 mile Line of Sight
2. 4-5 years of operation on single 9VDC lithium battery
3. Support for 4-20mA sensors
4. Real time alert/fault detection and notifications
5. Waterproof and dustproof enclosure (IP68)
6. 1-wire sensor support

“Our newest Cellio LoRa Transceiver integrates features and capabilities that our customers have been seeking,” explains Bob Witter, CEO of Device Solutions. “The Cellio ecosystem has expanded to meet the needs of a broadening array of verticals while maintaining a ‘loosely coupled’ architecture to allow for maximum flexibility. We are quite pleased with the feedback we are receiving from the range of companies using Cellio. We feel like we are in the right place in the market at the right time.”

Much of our economy is based on the use of gases. In addition to the obvious gases like gasoline and diesel, there is also a very big market for supplying and managing the distribution of noble gases throughout globe.

According to Transparency Market Research, in 2012, the noble gas market was estimated at 179 billion litres globally is projected to be approximately 202 billion litres by 2019. [1]

Keep in mind that there is are multiple tiers of distribution from the points of production to the points of consumption – with inventories of gas in tanks in increasingly smaller sizes all the way out to businesses and consumers. Managing that flow efficiently has been challenging. Companies have been unable to accurately visualize the locations of inventory, different sizes of tanks, and differing rates of consumption. This lack of visibility translates into loss of opportunities.
