Cellio – IIoT Platform “Bang for the Buck”

Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is an approach used to look at not only the initial cost of purchasing equipment, but also the total costs involved in installation, operation, replacement and potentially decommissioning equipment at the end of its life – both direct and indirect costs. What is included in the TCO estimate depends on the organization (or individual’s) perspective of what should be brought in and what is kept out. On the other side of the TCO equation is all the benefits that are expected to result from the acquisition, implementation, and operation of the investment – up and down the logistics and supply chains. The executive bottom line is – “Are we getting the most bang for our buck?!” Platforms like Cellio have been designed from the bottom up, philosophically, with delivering the biggest bang for the buck in both the initial deployment and the subsequent incremental leveraging of the platform.

Why is Cellio Changing the Balance of the IIoT Formula?

For many vendors and operators, the ideal deployment would be a 1:1 ratio of deployed devices for every asset that needs to be monitored. Unfortunately, this comes with the highest CAPEX and OPEX investments and expenses. Ideally, what is more optimal is a configurable and distributed approach where the fixed costs are minimized upfront and minimal incremental costs are required for scaling and extending the number of applications that can leverage the installed infrastructure. For example, a single Gateway device (connected via Cellular or Wi-Fi to the back-end) can support hundreds of Transceiver devices. Each Transceiver has 16 I/O points that can be used to connect to sensors and controllers. Thus, the effective cost to support each sensor is reduced as more sensors are added. Additionally, the single cellular gateway costs are increasingly shared as more sensors and controllers are added. Ultimately, the investment costs are driven largely by the costs of the sensors with minimal impact on infrastructure expenses – both direct and indirect.

The Cellio Wireless Network has been designed to be quick, affordable, and high quality. Cellio Wireless Transceivers allow the Cellio system and customers to quickly and easily expand existing systems with as many sensors and controllers as they like (with minimal incremental expense).  The data collected in the back-end data system can be easily and rapidly mapped and provided for view on PC’s, tablets, smartphones, etc. both via browser views as well as automatically generated native mobile app views. Sharing and modifying the dashboard views is quick and easy. All of this is available and in place today. There is a saying that you should “Inspect what you expect”.  If you are looking for an extensible and scalable platform for your IIoT applications, look no further than Cellio where you can select from turnkey end-to-end solutions to configuring and mixing and matching to your heart’s content. Cellio is leading the paradigm shift – shifting the balance of benefits in your favour.
